I provide a variety of opinion, commentary, and information, in three forms: a blog; a set of essays; and some annotation and recommendation of other Web resources. The basic perspective is the same, however. For each technical topic, news item, current issue, or reader request, I try to a search for the essential kernel of innovation or value, to focus on the kernel, and to use that focus to de-mytisfy seeming complexity or inessential details.

Also, there are some common threads that relate to the rather vague term "security," but not from the point of how some technology can make some asset "more secure." Instead, I try to explain how a pre-existing concern or risk is or is not affected in a meaningful and valuable way.

	Blog: this is the writing space where I focus on innovation, value, and the sometimes tenuous connection between them - often with a slant to security. It's basically some running commentary on the continuing stream of tech innovations and why some create value while others don't. Because security is a fairly common thread in my career, I often focus on security, privacy, or trust aspects of a particular innovation, event, or development.
	Selected Shorts: is my series of essays or newsletter articles on specific technical topics, most often related to security. The common goal of this type of writing is to de-mystifying seemingly complex topics. Particularly in the area of security, I find that the key points are obscured by lingo, buzzwords, hype, and FUD-speak (fear, uncertainly, and doubt). I try to cut through some of fuzz to offer some insight into the essence of the problem and/or whether a claimed solution has real value.
